The ultimate training arm would be a multi-tiered object servicing an intramuscular injection training pad, a suture pad insert. I am unsure how this may go at this point however ideally I would also like grooves that could be inserted for practicing intravenous injection, or adversely drawing blood from the arm.
The arm would have a hard shell design being able to make a soft mould from which I could cast using resin and fibreglass that has a mechanically fastened elbow.
Having the arm as a hardshell would allow me to make interlocks in the soft pieces that need inserted. As said before this is a multi-tiered process.
I will need:
a positive master arm designed in cad. or casted from a body (more waste/time/work)
a soft mould with a hard jacket for the arm casting.
then multiple hard mould for the suture pad and Intramuscular pad inserts
and mechanical fasteners for the arm.
(there also may need to be more research and development of this on what is most commonly used by basic to intermediate medical students as to if there could be more included that would really make this the ultimate arm trainer.)
the hard moulds for inserts would be something that would be disposable and would require purchasing more for training medical students from clients where as the arm would be a hard fixture and single purchase where all Mass replicated inserts would be able to be made to order for the customer/client.
Ideally though I would like to be able to do this as a 3d arm scan that I can then tailor as a model in cad.
